Miller, Clayton 3/13/1925 - 7/14/2019 Midland Clayton S Miller, 94, of Midland, flew away July 14, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living in Midland after a long and successful life. He was born March 13, 1925 in Kochville Twp., son of the late Harry and Mabel (Scherping) Miller. On January 27, 1956, he married "the love of his life" Mae Renwick. She predeceased him, August 3, 2007. He had a lifelong career at City Inter-State Freight as a truckdriver. Clayton was known for being a master of sarcasm, his love of Jelly Belly's, and sitting in his favorite recliner and cheering on his beloved sports teams. He was funny, with a dry sense of humor and not afraid to tell you what was on his mind. Under his dry humor and sarcasm was a deep love for all his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter Linda Kelsey; daughter-in-law Clara Compton; grandchildren Tod Richards, David Averill, Tyani Cates, Kendra Heath, Mark King, Lori Egleston, Julie Schultz, and Jill Haycook; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by his son Kenneth Compton, daughter Kay Moffett, brother Walter Miller and sister Maxine Shivley. Clayton's family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2019, at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Chapel, 1200 West Wheeler St. Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2019, in Midland City Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the First Tee or he would want you to send flowers to a loved one in his name. They will enjoy them and appreciate their beauty much more.
