Timothy P. Fields, 61, Anderson, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Oct. 2, 1957, in Anderson, to William Fields and Beulah (Frazier) Fields. Tim grew up in Lapel, where he learned the small town values of never meeting a stranger, neighbors helping neighbors and lending a helping hand. Tim embraced these values every day.
Tim graduated from Lapel High School in 1977 and Marion College in 1984.
He retired after 27 years of teaching at several schools. He coached many sports teams and youth leagues. He was awarded the Distinguished Hoosier Award for his contributions to the community which he loved.
Tim devoted his life to three things; Jesus Christ, his family, and teaching. He was an incredible example of Unwavering Faith, and the power of Jesus Christ. He was the personification of Love, Friendship, Sharing, and Selflessness.
He is survived by his children, Ashley (Mike) Eversole of Pendleton, Jennifer (Carlo) Roam of Fishers, and Brandon Caplinger of Marion; siblings, Esther Drennon, Marty Clark and Billy Fields; grandchildren, Jayden, Kingsley, Payton, and Jaxon. Tim is also survived by many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Denny Fields and Eugene Craig.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Lapel High School Gymnasium.
