Jay A. Gardner, 54 years, of Harrisburg, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the Hershey Medical Center. He was born in September 26, 1964 in Reading, PA the son of Arthur and JoAnn Gardner.

Jay is survived by: his wife, Kenda Gardner; his children Jared and Megan; his mother, JoAnn (Jensen) Gardner; his brother J. Christopher Gardner and his wife Lue Ann Gardner; his brother Gary Gardner and his wife, Leanne Gardner; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Gardner, Jennell Miller, James Gardner, Jake Gardner, and their families; and his friends.

Jay was preceded in death by his father, Arthur “Skip” Gardner.

Jay worked as a computer consultant in the field of information technology in the Central Pennsylvania area prior to his retirement. Jay was a member of Boy Scout Troop 256.

Jay enjoyed camping with the boy scouts and playing cards with friends and family whether it be poker or rummy. In the last couple years, he discovered his talent in creating watercolor paintings and went to many classes with his mother. He was known for his sense of humor which he maintained throughout his life.

The memorial service will be held at Devonshire Church (5630 Devonshire Road, Harrisburg) next Saturday, August 3, at 4:30 pm with refreshments following the service. Prior to the 4:30 pm service, there will be an hour of visitation beginning at 3:30 pm.
