Charles took a business name and became
"Charles Wendling," after his "grandmother,"
Ms. Rose Wendling

Charles was a talent agent. He married
Grace Lella Kern and together they had
a daughter (Coco (Wendling) Lewis)

Arrived November 4, 1907 aboard the ship named
"La Gascogne" (although they returned to Europe
from time to time). He grew up and soon attended
Cornell University and studied in the "School of Mil
Aeronautics" He enlisted 21 Nov 1917 (in NY) -- PFC.
His WWII draft registration card (dated 16 Feb 1942)
stated that he was 5' 11'', brown hair, brown eyed,
and weighed about 178 lbs.

Charles died while in Halifax Hospital.
His obituary listed his widow as "Marie"
