Bill “Sonny” Crow died Sunday, July 28, 2019 in Lawton at the age of 88. He was born December 13, 1930 in Jester, Oklahoma to William Franklin and Lucy Lee (Haygood) Crow. He grew up in the Jester area where he attended school before moving to Temple, Oklahoma as a young boy. He was a graduate of Temple High School. Bill attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University and Cameron College. He served in the U.S. Army from September of 1952 until September of 1954.
He married Rosemary Grantham on May 25, 1961 in Lawton. She preceded him in death on November 11, 2018. Bill worked in the car business all of his life. He worked for numerous dealerships and also owned his own car business. He was a member of Lawton Heights United Methodist Church and served as the church choir director for over 40 years. He was also the first director of the Southwest Oklahoma Barbershop group.
He is survived by three daughters, Toni Himes Capra, Cindy Crow Harper and Cathy Crow Luther; six grandchildren, Ainsley Capra, Cara Capra and husband Russell Kent, Ashley Harper, Adam harper and wife Carmen Speed-Harper, Christopher Luther and Shawn Luther and wife Emily; great grandchildren, Paytin, Ethan, Daemon, Malaena, Evelyn, Alaina and Isabelle; and his sister, Clovis Kinred.
His son, David Pat Himes, preceded him in death.
