Gerald B. (Jerry or G.B.) Marshall, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 24, at Community Hospital, Anderson. Jerry was born July 5, 1931, near Lima, OH, as the second of four sons to Harry and Melba Marshall.
He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Shawnee High School in 1949. While in high school, he lettered in basketball, baseball, and track. After graduating from The Ohio State University in 1954 with a BS degree in Industrial Engineering, he relocated to Anderson and began his career at Delco Remy. He also served his country in the US Air Force and flew F100's for the Indiana National Guard in Europe during the Berlin Wall crisis in 1961. In 1957, he married Jean Moore, whom he met while being stationed and flying in Mississippi. After 52 years of marriage, she preceded him in death in August, 2009. Jerry spent his professional career in various engineering and management capacities with Delco Remy in Anderson and Meridian, MS, and retired in 1987 after 32+ years of service.
He was a member of the Optimist Club, Madison County Golf Association, Anderson Country Club, and First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golfing and serving in various capacities on MCGA over many years and was a loyal Ohio State football fan. He also spent many hours with his grandkids at school and athletic functions as they grew up.

"Dad" is survived by his two children, Susan Marshall (husband Dr. Victor Lerch) of Raleigh, NC, and Roger Marshall (wife Janet) of Lafayette, IN. "Pappy" will be missed by his seven grandchildren , Corey, Erin, and Kyle Lerch, and Kiley, Preston, Garrett, and Hudson Marshall
