Born to Eugene Sears and Charlotte Yates on Feb. 11, 1952, she was a beloved member of the Terre Haute community volunteering her time with organizations such as the Crisis Pregnancy Center down to backyard Bible club. After finishing her Nursing Degree at ISU, she married Gerald "Gerry" Oliver on May 22, 1976 enjoying over 35 years of marriage.
After working as a nurse at Union Hospital, she decided to stay home and become a home school teacher. She was blessed with five children, Renee D. Tewell, Charles D. Oliver, James A. Oliver, John K. Oliver and Grace A. VanLue; in addition to her grandchildren, Neil Radford and Casey Grubbs.
Sheila was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Oliver; father; mother; and siblings, John Sears, Norman Sears, Brian Sears, Teresa Sears, Cathy, Jerry, and Deb.
She also was preceded by her stepmother, Majorie Sears; and two stepfathers, Clarence Shattuck and Bobby Yates.
She is survived by her siblings, Pamela Long, Duane Sears, Rosemary, Diane, Skip, Jeanne, Jackie, Julia, Tina, Vickie, Bill, Bobbi, Cindy; and other family members.
Sheila's life will be celebrated with a visitation Saturday starting at 11 a.m. followed by a service at 1 p.m. at Greiner Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service officiated by Pastor Jonathan Hollingsworth.
