Miller Yahola passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital in OKC on July 26, 2019 at the age of 93 years old. He was born on February 9, 1926 in Yeager, OK. He attended Euchee Boarding School. Miller entered the US Army where he proudly served his country as a WWII veteran, 30th infantry, and reached the rank of Corporal. He fought under the command of General Dwight D. Eisenhower, and was awarded the Purple Heart, three Bronze Stars, American Theatre Ribbon, and a Victory Medal for the World War. He also fought at the Battle of the Bulge, Normandy, Achtung, and the Fall of Berlin. When he returned from the Army he attended Okmulgee Tech and learned a trade in dry cleaning. He worked and retired from Manhattan Cleaners in OKC. Miller was a deacon of several churches: Little Springs Baptist, New Trinity Baptist, and Central Baptist. He enjoyed watching western movies, football, and basketball games. He loved going fishing and spending time with the family, as well as talking to his older friends in the Mvskoke Creek language. Miller is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pauline; daughter, Mildred; and son, Daniel. He is survived by son, Sam of the home OKC; daughters, Augustine Francis and Patsy Benton, both of OKC; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as his dog, Judo. He will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews, friends, family, and all those who knew him.
