Sidney was a former elementary and special education teacher with the Franklin Pierce School District. He was a graduate of the University of British Columbia, and during World War II was employed by Boeing as a flight inspector. He later served for several years as general manager of General Metals of Tacoma. Sidney was a charter member of the Lakewood Masonic Lodge. He was the wife of Lucille, father of Debbie and J David, and brother of Harry.
