Mrs. Bates was born to the late Ashton Hall & Rosella Howell Hall on October 12, 1932 in Worth County, GA. She married Kenneth Lamar Bates who preceded her death on July 23, 2008. She was a member of Riverside Holiness Church and attended Colquitt County Schools.
Survivors include: son, Randy Bates (Tammy), daughter, Retha Bates Beverly, both of Moultrie, GA, grandchildren, Dale Brent Cox (Christie), Kayla Bates Edge (Michael), and Jim Kaelen Beverly, great-grandchildren, Abigail Cox, Kenna Edge and Kace Edge, siblings, Voncile Taylor of Bay, GA, Denvelle Hall of Funston, GA, Othelle Thompson of Grand Ridge, FL, and a number of nieces and nephews.
