Professional Hockey Player. For twelve seasons (1961 to 1962 and 1963 to 1974), he played at the defenseman position in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings, New York Islanders and Atlanta Flames. Born Stuart Arnold Brown, he played for the Saint Michael's Majors, and was a member of the team which won the Memorial Cup (1961). He made his NHL debut with Toronto during the 1961-1962 season, however it would be with the New York Rangers in which he would experience his most production. During the 1969-1970 season, he produced a career high 15 goals, and 36 points. In 681 career regular season games, he compiled 44 goals and 141 assists. Brown was inducted into the Peterborough and District Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
