Freda Mae Robertson, 90, of Syracuse, UT and formerly of Salisbury, PA, died Monday, July 22, 2019, at Chancellor Gardens Assisted Living, Clearfield, UT.
Born May 3, 1929, in St. Paul, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Calvin and Sarah Elizabeth (Hutzell) Broadwater. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Robertson, December 14, 2018; two brothers, Ray and Willard Broadwater; two sisters, Edna Fisher and Ilene Fuller.
Mrs. Robertson was a seamstress for 33 years at the Salisbury Madeline Factory, formerly Salisbury Undergarment Factory. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Earl H. Opel Post 459, American Legion Auxiliary, Salisbury Area Ambulance Association and Walker-Harris Post 8826, V.F.W. Auxiliary.
Freda loved playing music, which she was self-taught at the banjo and mandolin, dancing, family parties, camping and crocheting.
She is survived by one daughter, Cathy (Brett) Winkelman, Syracuse, UT; three grandchildren, Richard Galley, Brian Galley and Brett Winkelman, Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Dakota Galley, Nicholas Galley, Whitney Galley and Earl Wallace.
Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Hwy., Salisbury, on Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Monday, July 29, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., with the Rev. Edward DeVore officiating. Interment will be in the Salisbury Cemetery.
