He was born March 20, 1940 in New Martinsville, WV, the son of the late James Earl and Eliza Marie Smith Willey.
He was a retired Coal Miner for Jim Walter Resources in Brookwood, AL, a proud UMWA member for 50 years, and a Methodist by faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kandace Kay Willey and six sisters, Naomi Johnson, Donna Jean Carroll, Mary Jo Adkins, Patty Lou Cornman, Sherry Snyder and Phyllis Willey.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mary Richmond Willey; daughter, DeAnna (Casey Richards) Willey; one sister, Elizabeth Taylor and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 1 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory 751 Third St. New Martinsville, WV with Jim Miller officiating.
