Robert A. Renner, 88, of Winchester, VA, died November 16, 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.
Mr. Renner was born August 30, 1930, in Uniontown, PA, the only son of Robert Harold Renner and Georgia B. Curl. Mr. Renner was raised by his maternal grandparents, Tom C. and Emma E. Watts, also of Uniontown. He retired from the Federal Government in 1994 after 40 years of service, ending with the General Services Administration, Federal Supply Service.
Mr. Renner graduated from Uniontown Senior High School in 1948 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving between WWII and the Korean War as a musician in a U.S. Army Field Band with the Sixth Army of the United States. He was honorably discharged following a stint in the active U.S. Army Reserve in 1954. He continued his musical interest following his military service by playing in local bands and orchestras in and around the Washington, DC/Baltimore, MD, areas.

Mr. Renner was a Gideon, Winchester Camp, a member of several Masonic bodies, including the Benjamin B. French Lodge No. 15, F.A.A.M.; the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, Valley of Washington, (DC); and the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Almas Temple; all in Washington, DC.
Mr. Renner faithfully attended services as a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and Christian Academy, Winchester, VA.
Mr. Renner’s marriage of 32 years to Doris Jean Renner ended in 1984; she was the daughter of George and Bertha Reese of Uniontown, PA.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Barbara Ann Link of Callaway, MD, and Mrs. Sandra Lee Hall of New Market, MD; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be held in the Chapel at Jones Funeral Home, Winchester, VA, at 10:30 a.m. on November 20, 2018 with Pastor Edward Schraff officiating. Burial will be private at the Shenandoah Memorial Park, Winchester, VA.

The family will receive friends on November 20, 2018 one hour prior to the service.
