In 1950 she married the love of her life J. W. Howell. They were proud parents of three sons Andy, Kevin and Scott. They both were very supportive of all activities their boys were involved in. They followed their boys to every football, baseball and softball games no matter how far away. This was also true for their grandchildren. Joanne was den mother for many years. She was a great cook. Her Sunday dinners were like having Thanksgiving every week for as long as her health allowed her to cook. She made the best peanut butter cakes and they were made famous.
