Gary A. Swanson, 70, of Sugar Grove, passed away at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA on July 25, 2019. Born June 10, 1949, in Warren, PA, he was the son of the late Milton Swanson and Helen VanVolkinburg Swanson of Copperas Cove, TX. After High School, Gary served his country as a Marine during the Vietnam War in Vietnam. He was retired from a Civil Service position and in his retirement, he enjoyed collecting and working on classic cars and reading.
In addition to his mother, Gary is survived by his wife, Brenda D. De Vera Swanson; a daughter, Melissa Swanson Colley, Westerville, OH; a son, Donny Swanson, Japan; 3 sisters, Betsy (Herbert) Anderson, Gerry, NY, Joan (Richard) Snyder, Fredonia, NY, and Ann Castellano, New York; a brother, Scott Swanson, Dorsten, Germany; a grandson, Rylan Colley and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his children's mother, Susana Adriano Swanson.
