He is survived by a daughter and son in law Jo Ann & Mike Dewell of Youngsville, NC, a granddaughter Kali Rae Dewell of NC, a brother Woodrow Wilson of Mannington, WV and a sister Karen Canjar of NC.
He was preceded in death by a brother James Wilson and a sister Ilene Cottrell.
Mr. Wilson was a retired mechanic for the Consolidation Coal Company at the Loveridge Coal Mine and a member of the UMWA Fairmont District #31. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Edgar was a former Chief for the Baxter Volunteer Fire Department, Past President & organizer of the Baxter “CB” Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing & traveling.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses & staff including Randy and Brenda of Amedysis Hospice, the staff of the Rivesville Pharmacy and special friends Tom Hall, Pastor David Meyer & Pastor Nathan Barker.
The family will receive friends at the Ford Funeral Home, DeGarmo Chapel, 207 Second Street, Rivesville, WV 26588 Sunday, July 28, 2019 from 1-3 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Sunday at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Barker and Pastor David Meyer officiating. The committal service will follow in the McCurdysville Cemetery, McCurdysviile, WV. Military Funeral Honors will be held at graveside by the Marion County Military Veterans Council.
