John A. Yoder, 71, of Goshen, died at 11:00 am on Friday, July 26 at his residence.

He was born on October 18, 1947, in Middlebury, to Amos and Katie (Hochstetler) Yoder. On April 19, 1970 in Goshen, he married Mary Lou Bender; she survives.

Survivors in addition to his wife are four sons, Darrell (Erma) Yoder of Shipshewana, Dennis (Clara) Yoder, Mark (Doretta) Yoder, Lyndon (Lorraine) Yoder all of Goshen; daughter, LuAnn (Clayton) Bontrager of Goshen; 19 grandchildren; six sisters, Anna (Edwin) Ropp of Kalona, IA, Amanda (Noah) Lehman, Polly (Vernon) Beechy both of Shipshewana, Mary (Merlin) Lehman of Middlebury, Martha (Simon) Schmucker of Goshen, Elsie (Herman) Mullet of Sarasota, FL; four brothers, Melvin (Elsie) Yoder of Homer, MI, Chris (Katie) Yoder, Monroe (Susie) Yoder, Harry (Sue) Yoder all of Shipshewana; brother-in-law, Eldon Nisley of Kalona, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jonathan David Yoder; brother, William Yoder; two sisters, Katie Nisley and Edna Schmucker.

He retired from Jayco after 38 years of work.

He was a minister and member of the Old Order Amish Church.

Visitation will be after 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 27 and all day Sunday, July 28 at the Clayton Bontrager residence, 13838 CR 34, Goshen.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 am on Monday, July 29 also at the Clayton Bontrager residence. Services will be conducted by the home ministers of the Old Order Amish Church.

Burial will be in Clinton Union Cemetery, Goshen.
