Christopher George Pettinger, who worked in the construction industry and for Tektronix, died June 23, 1996, in a northeast Portland hospital. He was 90.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, in Resurrection Lutheran Church.

Mr. Pettinger spent his early years in Iowa where he was born Jan. 17, 1906, in Cumberland. In 1941 he moved his family to Oregon where he logged for Lamm Lumber Co. in Klamath Falls. He also worked in the construction industry and retired in 1967 from Tektronix Corp.

His wives, Dorothy Helen, died in 1957 and, Alma Opal, died in 1993. Survivors include his daughters, Sharon Leach and LaVonna Cole, both of Portland; son, Dean of Casa Grande, Ariz.; brothers, Robert of Chairton, Iowa, and Lloyd of Brookings; sisters, Katheryn Bryant and Athyl Hunnerdosse, both of Des Moines, Iowa.
