Hollan was born in Adair County, KY, was a retired truck driver, and had attended Southeast Christian Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barbara Keith Beard; a son, Hollan Beard, Jr. (Lori); a daughter, Kathy Wheatley (Lynn); sister, Peggy Kean; brothers, Bobby and J. R. Beard; as well as his grandchildren, Kyle (Courtney) and Cody and his great granddaughter, Lexi.
A memorial visitation will be held 4 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home Jeffersontown, 10600 Taylorsville Road.
