Jeffery (Jeff) Lynn Potter, 58, of Wallburg, NC passed away unexpectedly late Friday, July 19, 2019, at Forsyth-Novant Medical Center in Winston-Salem. His family surrounded Jeff at his bedside as he entered into Glory and was welcomed by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jeff was born January 20, 1961 to Ray Potter and Jeanette Elliott in High Point, NC.

Jeff met his match the moment he saw a beautiful young lady named Valerie in 1978. The two were inseparable and married in 1982. Jeff and Valerie have two children, Tiffany and Matthew, and raised them in a home that loves Jesus and one another. In recent years, Jeff was blessed with two wonderful grandsons, Holden Goodman and Boden Potter, whom he treasured and spoiled as often as he could. Jeff was most happy when spending time with his wife, his children and their spouses, and his grandsons.

There was not a more tenderhearted or thoughtful person this side of Heaven than Jeff. Treating himself and his family to a getaway at Holden Beach was his favorite way to unwind. In the fall you would see him rooting for the Steelers each week and come winter he wore his Carolina Blue with pride as he cheered on the UNC Tarheels.

Employed by Brass Craft Manufacturing for the last 40 years, Jeff showed his work and home families the true meaning of hard work, loyalty and dedication. His love of the Lord was always apparent in his day-to-day life as evidenced by his faithful service to Greenwood Baptist Church for the last 20 years where he served as a Deacon and mentor.

Jeff is survived by his beloved wife Valerie; his daughter Tiffany and son-in-law Joey Goodman; his son Matthew and his daughter-in-law Jenny Potter; his grandsons Holden Goodman and Boden Potter; his mother Jeanette Elliott; his sisters Janet Leonard (Arlis) and Joyce Whitaker (Ronnie); his brother-in-law Travis Peterson (Janet); sister-in-law Shelly Beck; six nephews Noah, Evan, Joel, Dillon, Logan and Daniel; five nieces Jennifer, Melissa, Lauren, Brianna, and Sophia; and his best man and best friend Chris Owens.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father Ray Potter; his stepfather Harvey Elliott; and his kindhearted nephew Paul Peterson.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at JC Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville, NC 27360 on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at JC Green & Sons on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 11:00 am, conducted by his son-in-law, Joey Goodman. Interment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, 401 West Holly Hill Rd, Thomasville, NC 27360.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeff Potter’s name can be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
