Dixie L. Tieffel Kuhn of Brandon, Florida, formerly of Effingham, Il, passed away April 26, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 10a.m. on June 3 in the Oakridge Cemetery in Effingham, following with a family celebration of life held at the Thelma Keller Convention center in Effingham. Born Nov. 12, 1938, Dixie was the daughter of the late Melvin and Mary (Campbell) Tiefffel of Effingham. Surviving are her daughters, Jeri Lynn (Mike) Rivard of Lutz, Florida, Jacinda (friend Ira) Brady of Mulberry, Florida, and Shannnon (Manny) Aguilar of Tampa, Florida; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Dixie leaves sisters Shirley (Bud) Vonderheide of Stewardson, Il, Mickey (Jerry) Koester of Teutopolis, Il, Sandy (Don) Bingman of Effingham, Il, Priss (Ed) Stevens of Watson, Il, Debbie (Lyle) Kirby of Watson, Il, Dianna (Nathan) Jones of Effingham, Becky (Tim) Tieffel of Effingham, Il; brothers Bob (Gloria) Tieffel of Jackson, Tn, Don (Chris) Tieffel, Dennis Tieffel and David (DIane) Tieffel, all of Effingham, Il, Doug (Nila) of Teutopolis, Il, Jim Tieffel of Effingham, Il; and sister in law Paula Tieffel of Herrick, Il. Dixie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim Kuhn, former husband Fred Lankford, daughter Michelle Lankford and brothers Melvin, Jerry and Kent, and sister Norma.∼Dixie Tieffel departed this life April 26, 2018. She was loved by all who knew her and will be surely missed by those who had the honor of being a part of her life. In accordance with her final wishes, Dixie's body was cremated in the state of Florida, where she lived out all of her adult life. Her ashes will be buried near the graves of her much beloved family members, who left this earth before her, in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Effingham, Illinois. A grave side service will be held at 10 am on June 3rd for those who wish to show their respect. Immediately following the service, the family is invited to Celebrate her Life together at a gathering to be held at The Thelma Keller Convention Center at the Holiday Inn.
