Beverly fought a short but spirited battle with cancer and was thankful for the care given to her in San Antonio and at CSI St. Joseph in Bryan. However, her greatest desire was to go home to the family ranch near Tabor to be surrounded by family and to see her beloved pets once more. She had her wish for a few days before she entered eternal rest in the early hours of Dec. 1st.
Beverly was born in Bryan on December 30, 1932, to Frank and Doris Watson. She attended the Bryan schools and was the homecoming queen at Stephen F. Austin High School her senior year of 1951.
A fellow classmate, Bobby Caldwell, Co-Captain of the S.F.A. football team, already had chosen her as "the one." After graduating high school Beverly attended the Texas State College for Women (now called Texas Women's University). Bobby was in the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M, graduating in 1955.
Following their marriage in 1954, they spent a long and adventurous time as an Air Force family. Beverly made a welcoming home wherever they were stationed.
To the couple were born Christopher Scott, Robert King, Kirstin Margaret, and Patrick David. Beverly was pre-deceased by her parents, Frank and Doris Watson; her husband, Bobby in 2011; and their son, Tim. Survivors include her children, Christopher and wife, Patricia, King, Kirstin and husband, Leigh Koltun, Patrick and wife, Elizabeth; grandchildren, Chris George and wife, Kimberly Evans, Jacquelynn and husband, Trent Maresh, Charlotte Caldwell, Ashley and Kayleigh Caldwell, and Claire and Katharine Koltun; great-grandchildren, Julianne Maresh and Matthew Evans.
In these past years Beverly enjoyed the quiet, country life in the home that she and her late husband Bobby built together. She was an avid reader, crossword enthusiast, and enjoyed meeting her fellow high school classmates for lunch once a month.
Before her passing, Beverly stated that she lived a long and wonderful life. The family would like to acknowledge the love and kindness of everyone in Beverly's life; you know who you are.
A graveside service will be held at Bickham Cemetery on December 11th, at 1:00. Memorials may be made to the Alexander United Methodist Church, 5300 Alexander Cemetery Road., Bryan, Texas 77808 or simply pass on to others Beverly's kindness and thoughtfulness.
