In Memory of Sarah Wilma Allen, 75, passed away after a courageous battle with brain cancer on Saturday, July 6th at her home in Garden City surrounded by her loving family.

Visitation will be held from 4pm-6pm on Thursday July 18, 2019 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 423 West 7th Street, Mankato, MN with a Memorial Service at 6:30pm. Interment will be at a later date at Memorial Park Cemetery in Austinville, Iowa.

Sarah was born on July 18, 1943 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Mary and Harold Wade. She was raised from an infant by her Aunt Tena and Uncle John Siebenga in Austinville, Iowa and later graduated from High School in Aplington, Iowa.

Sarah spent most of her life working in office administration and later attended cosmetology school and worked professionally as a beautician.

She married John Allen on July 26, 1971. They lived with their 5 children in Iowa until 1976 and then moved to Minnesota, where they enjoyed 48 wonderful years together.

Sarah enjoyed her family, sewing, crafting, gardening, golfing, time at the lake, and visiting with family and friends.

Sarah is survived by her husband John, children Liz (Kent) Thiesse, Fritz (Nancy) Schneider, Robin (Tim) Vaughan, Jon (Kim Bergs) Allen, Tina (Darrell) Watkins; 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters & brothers Sharon (Dave) Albright, Maxine Perry, Dana Wade, Peg (Richard) Winters, Tom Wade, Beth (Larry) McKain; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, aunts & uncles, sister Teri (Bill) Chandler, brother-in-law Larry Perry, sister-in-law Joyce Wade, niece Brenda Minikus, and great-nephew Dylan Wade.
