DECATUR — Joe F. Scott, 63, died July 22, 2019. A Celebration of Life will be 2 p.m. Sunday at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer with burial in Calvary Memorial Gardens. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Reynolds Funeral Home announces with deepest sympathy the passing of Mr. Joe Scott, 63 of Decatur, AL. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, 2:00 pm at United Pentecostal Jubilee House of Prayer, with Bishop Thomas Strong, officiating and interment at Calvary Memorial Garden. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the service. Family Visitation will be Saturday evening 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Joe Freddie Scott was born on February 17, 1956 to the union of Robert Scott and Louise Hughes Bailey in Decatur, Alabama. He departed this life on July 22, 2019 at his residence in Decatur, Alabama

Joe received his formal education from Lakeside High and Austin High Schools located in Decatur, AL. He later served in the U.S. Navy.

He was employed at Kohler where he worked until he became ill. He was highly loved and respected. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people while he was here. He never met a stranger and always kept everyone laughing. He enjoyed working on appliances, cars, fishing, grilling, cooking, listening to music and visiting his family.

During his battle with lung cancer he said he was trusting and believing God. His faith and strength remained strong until the end.

Joe was baptized and received the Holy Ghost at the Pentecostal House of Prayer by the late Bishop A. C. Strong in 1981.

Joe leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted mother, Louise Hughes Bailey; one daughter, Kwan Scott; six sisters, Shirley (Paul) Mason, Amanda (Lee) Spangler, Denise Johnson, Vickie (Thomas) Strong, Annette (Paul) Bradley, Kathleen Bailey; a special loving and caring friend, Geanis Stovall all of Decatur; nine aunts, Virginia Scott, Doris McDaniel, Earlene Hughes, Clara Scott, Minnie Scott, Margie Tucker, Dorothy Silvery, Rose Scott, Frances (Charles) Young; a host of nieces, nephews and countless other friend and family who were blessed to have known him.
