Edward Grant McMullin passed away May 30, 2007 in Show Low, Arizona at the age of 87. He was born on January 9, 1920 to the late Ira E. & Hazel (Hopkins) McMullin in Leeds, Utah where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from St. George High School and then went to Dixie College for two years. Grant later received his Bachelor's Degree from Utah State University in Logan. He taught school in Tropic and Escalante, Utah before going to Arizona State University to receive his Master's degree in education. In 1962, Grant moved to Snowflake, Arizona where he taught until his retirement in 1984. He had a great love for his students and was well loved by them in return. Grant served in the U.S. Army and was a World War II Veteran. He was very active in the Boy Scouts of America and received the Silver Beaver Award for his work in the scouting program. In 1987, he and his wife served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Roanoke, Virginia. Grant is survived by 3 sons: Melvin Jones of St. Johns, AZ, Ed "Eddie" McMullin of Tempe, AZ, John McMullin of Gallup, NM; 3 daughters: Brycene Lippard of Snowflake, AZ, Lana McMullin of Snowflake, AZ, Meridon Figueroa of Tucson, AZ; 26 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and one sister, Laurel Hafen. He was always a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara; one daughter, Diane Blaine; two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held Monday June 4, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at The Temple View Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Snowflake with a visitation Sunday, June 3, 2007 from 6-8:00 P.M. at Owens Mortuary in Snowflake.
