Myron G. “Fat” Moore, 90, of Springfield, died at 2:53 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at his residence.

Myron was born August 26, 1928 in Coffeen, the son of Orville and Fairy Blackburn Moore. He married Eunice I. Rumery on June 1, 1950 in Coffeen.

Myron was a 1946 graduate of Coffeen High School. He worked as a general supervisor for Fiat-Allis for over 30 years; he had also worked as building maintenance supervisor at Calvary Church for many years. He was a member of Calvary Church choir and served as a chaplain in prison ministry for many years. He was a founding member of the Prop Club. Myron enjoyed Facebook, crossword puzzles, tractors, cars, basketball, swimming, and genealogy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Myron Kyle Moore; daughter, Brenda Moore; and three siblings, Darrel, Velma, and Lulu.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Eunice Moore of Springfield; two daughters, Tamara Moore of Springfield and Charlene (James) Mathes of Springfield; two grandchildren, Eric (Machelle) Settles of Urbana and Michael Settles of Springfield; and six great-grandchildren, Jonas, Elijiah, Isabella and Levi Settles, and Izik and Malachi Settles.

Funeral Ceremony and Visitation: 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Calvary Church, 1730 W. Jefferson St., Springfield, with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating. A visitation will take place after the ceremony until 7:00 p.m.

A private family burial at Oak Ridge Cemetery will be held.
