Rose M. Schaubert, 79, of Marion passed away at 1:10 pm Thursday, March 8, 2007, in Fountains Care Center in Marion.
She was born on July 21, 1927 in Williamson County, the daughter of William H. and Alice M. (Marks) Lee.
She was married to Walter R. Schuabert on Oct 17, 1970 in Marion, and they shared 17 years of marriage until his death Aug 3, 1988.
Her home and her family were the center of her life. She enjoyed caring for the needs of her family and her home, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ of Marion, where she took part in many church activities and worked in the church nursery.
She is survived by on daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Pierson of Germantown, MD, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ron and Martha Matheny of North Richland Hills, Texas and Michael Matheny of Marion; special niece, Therese Beavers of Johnson City; one grand daughter Meredith Holahan and husband, Matt; four grand sons, Robert E. Whitacre and wife Melinda, Robert Pierson and wife, Andrea; and Michael Dalton Matheny; seven great-grandchildren, Liam, Alaina, Grace and Abby Whitacre, Megan and Tommy Pierson, and Chase Holahan; other extended family members and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter R. Schaubert; first husband, Dean Matheny; three sisters, Cecile Hester, Ruth Krumery and Peggy Hardy; three brothers, William and Robert Lee and infant brother, James Kenneth Lee.
Arrangements for Rose M. Schaubert have been entrusted to Wilson-McReynolds funeral home, 900 North Court St, Marion, IL.
Services will be at 1 pm Sunday, March 11, 2007, in the Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home of Marion, with the Rev. Linda Coulson presiding. Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation for family and friends will be from 5 pm to 8 pm Saturday, March 9, 2007, at the Funeral Home
