Norman was born July 21, 1934 in Holyoke, MA to the late Adelard and Eva (Gauthier) Beauchemin. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and later enlisted in the Air National Guard retiring in 1994. Norman married the late Rose Mary Boungeois and on December 28, 1983 married Norma Jean Mathews. She also preceded him in death on March 19, 2016. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Alpena Elks.
Surviving are his son-in-law, Dennis Haggan; grandsons, Matthew Donavan, Mark (Rebecca) Haggan; 1 great grandson; Norma's 6 children, Tina (Monte) Montgomery, Joe Grotto, Debra (Larry) Peterson, Valerie (John) Vance, Theresa (Frank) Wozniak, Jean Grotto; 14 grandchildren, Nathan (Jennifer) Montgomery, Richard Grotto, Jessica Martin, Melissa (Brian) Hornung, Robert (Carissa) Peterson, Malory (Adam) Yarnell, Jacob (Elaine) Beigler, Spencer (Jennifer) Grotto, Jared Chalupa, Jed Chalupa, Heather (Ben) Shape, Ben Henry, Jason Henry, Jasmine Grotto; and 12 great grandchildren.
Mr. Beauchemin was preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Haggan; son Tracy Grotto; 3 brothers, Donald, Joseph and Maurice.
Mr. Beauchemin is at the Bannan Funeral Home where visitation will take place on Friday from 5-8 p.m. with full military honors accorded him at 5:30 p.m. by VFW Alpena Post 2496. Visitation will continue Saturday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
