A message from Miami, Florida, brought to this community the sad news of the death of Henry Fox, which occurred at a hospital in that city Wednesday, December 28th. The body will be cremated there, and later - probably next June - brought to Nelson, where the wife and one daughter passed from this life.

Mr. Fox is well and favorably known to many in Nelson and Nuckolls county (sic), having resided here for a long period of years. He came to Nelson from Lincoln, Illinois, as an energetic young business man and assumed the business interests of Lord Scully in May, 1888. He held this position until 1917, when he was called back to the home office in Lincoln, Illinois, and W.W. Hawley who was assistant in the Nelson office, was promoted to agent.

Henry Fox was a leader among men and esteemed by all who knew him - loved by his friends and admired by those with whom he differed - for the great courage of his convictions, possessed in a high degree. He was a most active worker in the Church and Sunday school, being an Elder in the Presbyterian church here for many years, and foremost in all worthwhile activities of the community.

Three children: Mrs. Virginia Kennedy, Davenport, Iowa, Mary Elizabeth, Dennison, Colorado, and Henry, Jr., of Miami, Florida, survive the father. The wife and mother departed from this life in July, 1927.
