Edithburgh, October 9.

Mr. Walter George Davey, a much respected resident of Honiton, died, suddenly, early on Thursday morning last. The evening previous, whilst assisting in the preparations for a corncert to be held two evenings later on, he complained of pains in the arms, but went home and retired to rest as usual. At about 3 .o'clock on Thursday morning he got up complaining of pains in the chest and back and of feeling very queer. Some home remedies were applied to give relief, but before medical assistance could be obtained he expired. Death resuited from a heart affection and no inquest was held. Great sympathy is felt for the family, especially as death has been busy in the family this year. The father of the deceased died in March last and his eldest daughter died in May as the result of a fall from a horse. The remains were interred in the Edithburgh Cemetery on Friday, afternoon. A large number of people attended the funeral and over 40 vehicles followed the hearse to the cemetery. The Rev. C. H. Nield conducted the funeral service. Mr. Davey was 44 years of age and leaves a widow, four sons, and one daughter.
