Mary Helen was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt during her 77 years this side of heaven. She celebrated 61 years of marriage to Ben Cardenas Jr. and born of that union were six (6) children - Carlos Cardenas (Cynthia), Norbert Cardenas, Leticia Cardenas Russell (Lester), Gerard Cardenas (Kathleen), Edith Cardenas Alvarado (John David), and Catherine Cardenas Morales (Pete). Mary Helen is survived by her husband, Ben; her children; sister, Angelita Medina Pulido; eleven grandchildren, Maria Cardenas, Fabian Cardenas; Michelle Cooper, Christopher Cardenas, Lauren Applegate, and Eric Applegate; Tabitha Russell; Megan Cardenas, Caitlin Cardenas, and Bridget Cardenas; and David Alvarado; four great-grandchildren, Noel Cardenas; Caitlin Cooper, Gilbert Ramirez and Abigail Cardenas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Maria Medina; her sister, Esther Sanchez; and her grandsons, J.R. Russell and Patrick Cardenas. Mary Helen was a Christ follower and exemplified Him in her humble, gentle and loving character and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
