Roy Leon Watson, 78, of Springdale, died Monday, July 22, 2019. He was born October 29, 1940, to George Washington and Ivory Belle Williams Watson in the Shiloh Community of Newton County, Arkansas. Roy married Mary Reba Johnson on April 12, 1963, at Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where Roy was a longtime active member and trustee. He was also a member of the Gideons, and served in the Arkansas National Guard. Roy loved music, especially playing guitar, and he enjoyed being around people. He was a huge sports fan and followed the Razorbacks and St. Louis Cardinals.

Roy is survived by his wife Mary Reba; two children, Penny Michelle Bradley and husband Jack, Kirk Leon Watson and wife Lindy; one brother, Troy Watson; one sister, Bonnie Villines; two grandchildren, Kayla Bradley and Morgan Carter and husband Chris; and five great-grandchildren, Kaysynn, Carson, Cambree, Jack, and Cali. He was preceded in death by one brother, Clell, and one sister, Retha.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Phillips Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with interment at Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.
