Mrs. Viola Rich Marshall, 74, of 5184 Harrells Hwy., died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at UNC Memorial Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.

Mrs. Marshall was born March 13, 1945 in Sampson Co., NC the daughter of the late Walter Eddis Rich and Mildred Shipp Rich.

She was a beloved mother, wife, and grandma. She loved her family, her community, and her church family. She was a retired school teacher having served over 32.5 years, within the Union School District in Sampson Co. NC. She was a devoted Christian and dedicated to service. She was very involved in missions through her church and dedicated her life to serving others. Her three sons were her greatest accomplishments, and her granddaughter brought her so much joy. She was rich in love and had a heart of gold.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 P.M. Monday July 15, 2019 at the Garland Baptist Church by the Reverend Ed Rouse and Reverend Hampton Faircloth.

Burial was made in the Garland Cemetery.

She was a devoted and loving wife to Bobby Marshall for 50 years and 7 months, three sons, Kent Marshall of Wilmington, Todd Marshall and wife Shannon of Garland, Anthony Marshall and wife Lindsey of Garland, one sister, Elaine Carroll and husband Elworth of Garland, one brother, E.C. Rich and wife Connie of Garland, two sister-in-laws, Joyce Willoughby of Wilmington, Patricia Marshall of Wallace, one grandchild, Ivy Marshall.

The family received friends on Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00P.M. at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
