Kenneth Alan Simpson Streeter

Kenneth Alan Simpson Streeter, 95, died 23 July 2019. He was born 20 March 1924, the son of Kenneth Alan & Eleanor (Donham) Simpson in Burlington, Vt. Kenneth was an 11th generation New England descendant from 13 Mayflower Passengers and a 4th generation descendant from Scotland.

At a very early age, he went to live with his grandparents, George and Edith Donham who lived on a farm in West Upton, Mass. He attended Charlestown High School, where met Roberta Jean Nelson, also an 11th generation New England/Mayflower descendant, and graduated in 1942. They were married in Charlestown, NH on 18 May 1946.

In Charlestown, Alan was involved with Boy Scouts where he reached the rank of Life Scout. Later, he became a Scout Leader in Torrance, CA for his sons. Alan served as a Radioman in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1943-1946. Alan worked at a radio Station in Utica, N.Y. and then as an Engineer at Northrop Aerospace Corporation for 27 years.

Alan and Roberta retired in 1983 and moved to Oakhurst, CA where he was active in the VFW Post 8743, Kiwanis, the local Stamp Collectors Club and enjoyed genealogy and traveling. In 2011 they moved to Coarsegold with their son James. In 2016, Alan went to be with Roberta at Cottonwood Assisted Living Facility in Fresno, until her passing in 2018 and continued residing there until his death.

Alan was preceded in death by his wife Roberta (Nelson) Streeter, parents, mother Eleanor (Dunham) Streeter, step-father Herbert Eugene Streeter, sister Alice Simpson & half-brother Arthur “Buz” Streeter. He is survived by his 2 half-sisters: Nancy A. (Fred) Wright of Keene, NH and Sarah “Sally” A. (Loomis) Waldron of Torrington, CT; 2 sons: James A. (Sussie) Streeter of Coarsegold and Robert H. (Janice) Streeter of Torrance; 5 Grandchildren: Katherine (Gabriel) Benard, Michael Streeter, Jeni Johnson, Michelle Streeter & Melanie (Andrew) Stoller; 3 Great Grandchildren: Wyatt Stoller, Nathaniel Benard & Casey Stoller along with other Family & Friends.
