Ellen Picou Babin, 95, a native of Little
Caillou and resident of Houma, died at
12:09 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2000.

Visitation will be from 3 to 10 p.m. today at
Chauvin Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. to
funeral time Monday at Holy Rosary
Catholic Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m.
Monday at the church, with burial in the
church cemetery.

She is survived by three sons, Lester and
Dean Babin, both of Houma, and Leland
Babin of Chauvin; one daughter, Mrs. William (Mary) Smith of
Houma; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 11
great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Norris Babin; her
parents, Emile and Darliska Henri Picou; one son, Delvin Babin; six
brothers, Linest, Louis, Alcide, Joseph, Edward and Emile Picou
Jr.; six sisters, Mrs. Irvin (Elise) Duplantis, Mrs. Willard (Allie)
LeBlanc, Louise Lirette, Lucille Nelton, Cecile Foret and Marie
Picou; one grandchild, name not provided; and three
great-grandchildren, names not provided.

She was a Eucharistic minister, a recipient of the Bishop's Medal
and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
