Betty Ann Davis Strickland, 81, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019, at home surrounded by her family.
Betty was born March 24, 1938, in Tallahassee, she was a daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth Coggins Davis.
She was married to her husband, Durwood Strickland for 57 years and had lived in Tallahassee all her life. She retired from the Florida Department of Revenue and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
After her retirement, she and her husband served in the Orlando Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints until June of 2012.
Betty is survived by daughters, Kathy Renee Strickland and Elizabeth "Niki" Davis (and husband Greg Oaks); three grandchildren, Jared Davis (Leighanne), Stephanie and Nicholas Oaks; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Rudy and Earl Davis, and a sister, Louise Gray.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 PM, Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Bevis Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5455 Buck Lake Road, Tallahassee, Florida 32317. Interment will follow at the Tallahassee National Cemetery, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Todd Wahlquist with Bevis Funeral Home (850-385-2193, www.bevisfh.com) is assisting the family with their arrangements.
