She was born in Plattsburgh, January 10, 1943, the daughter of Gerald and Doris (Elliott) Nolette.
Karen graduated from Au Sable Forks High School in 1960. She took business course post graduate, during which time she met her husband of 48 years, Andrew Dixon who she married June 25, 1966 in Au Sable Forks.
Karen worked at the Land of Make Believe and for Harmon T. LaMar, DDS and later became a stay at home mom.
She was a member of the Keeseville/Peru Ecumenical Choir, Eastern Star, Red Hatters, Keeseville United Methodist Church, and Peru Community Church.
Karen enjoyed knitting, crafts, teaching Sunday school, baking, and planning parties with amazing food. She also enjoyed visits from her grand dogs, Moe and Maggie.
Left to cherish the memory of Karen are daughter, Dorene Dixon; son, Murray Dixon and wife Mary all of Keeseville.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Dixon (October 30, 2014); and her in-laws, Rodney and Marguerite Dixon.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 4 to 7 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 10 AM at the Peru Community Church with the Rev. Peggi J. Eller presiding. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery, Au Sable Forks.
Those attending the funeral are asked to wear her favorite color red.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Keeseville Volunteer Fire Department, Peru Community Church, and Clintonville Methodist Church.
