Robert George McCord Sr., age 83, passed away due to natural causes on January 21, 2019 at Baptist Hospital. Robert was born on May 15, 1935 in Mars, Pennsylvania to Arthur Shirkey and Olive Mae McCord.
Robert was survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor Zulean “Sue” McCord; and sons, Sherrill VonDolteren of Statesboro, GA, David Lee McCord of Port St. Lucie, FL, Robert George McCord Jr. of Sanford, FL, and Stephen Arthur McCord of New Orleans, LA.
He was a member of both the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. Robert worked for CSX Railroad as a manager of Field Auditors and for the United States Airforce as a communications expert. He held a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Robert was a very hard working man. He always ensured that his family was taken care of, even if that meant working three jobs to support his growing family. Robert always made sure that his wife was always his first priority.
