Vera Ellis of Caldwell, Texas passed from this life on July 20, 2019.
She was born November 4, 1944, in Franklin, Texas.
She grew up just outside of Hearne, Texas. She was the daughter of the late James R. And Vera (Foley) Johnson. Vera owned and operated Ellis Insurance in Pasadena, Texas for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed horses, her cats, and spending time with family and friends.
Vera is survived by her husband, Jack Ellis; stepchildren, Gene Ellis and his wife Sharon, Robin Hofstra and her husband, Travis, and Ryan Ellis and his wife, Tristan; eight grandchildren, Courtney, Brandon, Cody, Loren, Brittany, Emily, Braden, and Kallen; three great-grandchildren, Bryson, Sophia, and Jared; and many nieces and nephews.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents; her brother James Johnson; her sisters, Lois Copeland, Evelyn Spitz, and Joyce Walden; and her late husband, John Ellis.
A service honoring Vera’s life will be on July 26, 2019, at the Forest Park East Funeral Home, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598. Vera’s family will receive family and friends for visitation at 9:00 am followed by the service at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Diabetes Association or American Quarter Horse Foundation.
