Karen E. Grant, age 66, of Huntley former many year resident of Crest Hill, Illinois passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2019 under the care of her family in the comfort of her home after battling breast cancer. Karen was born in Amsterdam, New York on August 28, 1952 and was the daughter of the late William & Marilyn Baranowski. Prior to retirement Karen was a longtime dedicated Christian School Educator and taught at Trinity Christian School in Shorewood, IL. Karen was a resident of Sun City, Huntley for the past 7 years and an active member of the God’s Girls Bible Study at Del Webb. She was a committed Christian and an active member of the Fox Valley Church in Dundee. Karen also volunteered at the Huntley Library. She is survived by her husband of almost 44 years, David B., her children; Kyla R. (Hoa) Phu and William D. (Araceli) Grant. Her granddaughter; Selah Phu and her two foster grandchildren; Erika and Jonathan. Karen is also survived by her brother; Joel (Sandra) Baranowski, her niece; Amanda and her nephews; Benjamin, Nathaniel and Zachary as well as countless good and faithful friends. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a son in infancy; Jacob Baran Grant in 1977.
Visitation will be held at Fox Valley Church, 37 W 037 Huntley Road in Dundee on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral services at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow at Washington Reformed Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Elgin.
