She transitioned from her earthly life to her everlasting life on Sunday July 7, 2019 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia, North Carolina.
She was the oldest daughter of ten children. Barbara was not blessed with children, but helped raise her younger siblings, as well as her nieces and nephews.
Barbara attended Roosevelt High School, in York, South Carolina. She enjoyed Saturday morning outings with her sisters. She also loved shopping and keeping abeast of trending and contour fashion. One of her hobbies included reading interior décor and soap operas.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents: Eddie Clint and Vestula Byrd; brother: Edward Byrd; sisters: Shirley Crawford and Omera Byrd.
She leaves to celebrate her home going five sisters: Sylvia Desmond-Smith of Amber, PA, Doris Byrd of Charlotte, NC, Florence Byrd, Linda B. Lowery, and Vanessa Byrd all of Gastonia, NC; brother: Charles Byrd; sister in law: Lether Byrd and a host of nieces, nephew, relatives and friends.
