Born November 27, 1947, at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Mr. Williams was the son of the former Marjorie Marsh and the late Willard Williams. Making the best decision of his life, Williams married Martha Anna Bappert after a four-month engagement on January 29, 1972, in Williamston, Michigan. Mrs. Williams survives him. He is also survived by his mother, Marjorie Whitehead, and his beloved children: Bethany (Brett) Shaw, Julie (Jeffrey) Feazel, and Marc (Shannon) Williams, all of Dimondale.
Grandchildren who survive Mr. Williams are Zachary, Joshua, Michael, Alexander, and Johnathan Shaw; Corey (Nicole) Belcher; Ian and Molly Williams; August and Austin Feazel, and great-granddaughter Avery Belcher. Sisters Marta (Richard) Mrva and Kristine Miller, and aunt Kay Marsh also survive. Also left to cherish his memory are many sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends.
Mr. Williams served with U.S. Army Co. D 75th Support Battalion 1st Brigade in Vietnam from March 1969 to March 1970. He enlisted in the army on June 19, 1967, immediately after graduation from Lansing Everett High School. In addition to his service in Vietnam, Mr. Williams served in Germany, and at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Always a proud veteran, the final outing of Mr. Williams' life was to appear in the 2019 Dimondale Memorial Day parade, despite serious Agent Orange illness.
Following military service, Mr. Williams was employed by the City of East Lansing from January 1972, through his retirement in 1998, and later by Ace Hardware in Mason.
Mr. Williams was a member of V.F.W. Post 7309, and Knights of Columbus Mason Council 9182.
Mr. Williams was pre-deceased by his father, Willard Williams; stepfather, George B. Whitehead, and parents-in-law, Edward and Meroe Bappert.
