Ross White, 97, of Amarillo, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2000.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in Amarillo Bible Church. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St.

Mr. White was born in Bangor, Wis. He attended the University of Texas at Arlington. He moved to Amarillo from Littlefield in 1932.

He was owner and proprietor of White's Laundry Service for 40 years, retiring in 1972. He was a charter member of Amarillo Gideons and was elder at Amarillo Bible Church for 48 years.

Mr. White served as interim director of the West Texas chapter of Child Evangelism Fellowship from 1967 to 1975.

He married Frances Sanders in 1926 at Olton. She died in 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Weekley of Boulder, Colo., and Frances Clark of Irving; two sons, Paul White and Alden White, both of Amarillo; 15 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to West Texas chapter of Child Evangelism, 818 W. Ninth, Amarillo, TX 79101.

The family will be at 2207 Teckla Blvd.
