Sonny went to his heavenly home on Thursday, July 18, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was a well-known builder for many years. Sonny worked in Law-Enforcement for 30 years and retired from 7th Ward Marshal's office. He enjoyed spending time with his family, local politics, and helping people.
Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Pam Thompson; daughter, Angel Thompson; sister, Jill Brescher (Wayne); granddaughter, Gabrielle King; niece, Jennifer Brescher; and nephew, Bucky Hampton.
Sonny is preceded in death by his parents Brent and Betty Thompson; his grandparents, Eddie and Willie Shaffer, and William and Veva Thompson; nephew, Michael Brent Hampton; and Aunt Pat Shaffer.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home, Hammond, on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Jimmy Wall will officiate the service with interment to follow in Macedonia Church Cemetery.
