It is not known if Elias was born in Vermont or in Quebec as he was born the same year the family came from Hero Island, Vermont, 1830, moving with two "waggon-loads of stuff" (per Robert Seller unused notes and his History book) and they settled in Elgin Township, Huntingdon County, Lot 10 of the Clergy Reserve, in the 4th Concession.
