CUMMINGS, Keith W., 79, died on Jan. 24, 2003 after a long illness. He was born in Gouvernor, New York, and he grew up in Carthage, New York. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in Dec. 1941, and was trained a s a Tail-Gunner on a B-17. He attained the rank of Staff Sgt., and completed three bombing missions over enemy territory on D-Day. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He married Kathryn Barton of Tam pa on Feb. 9, 1944. They were married 58 years. He was a supervisor for Hartline Transportation and retired in 1990. He is survived by his widow and various nieces and nephews. A private funeral service was held. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on March 29, at St. Lawrence Church.
