Sam Edward Casteel, passed away January 29, 2022, with his loving family by his side. He was a resident of Jasper, TN. Sam was born on April 17, 1930, to Ernest and Mary Rector Casteel. Sam was known affectionally as "Rooster".

Sam was employed by TVA as a maintenance supervisor until his retirement. He loved his country and was held in the highest honor where he served in the United States of America Marine Corp. Sam loved baseball and coached little league for several years. He loved the game of golf, enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid gardener. Sam was a family man and loved his family very much. He was a wonderful husband, father and loved being a "Paw Paw". Sam was also a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Jasper, Tennessee.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Rector Casteel; brothers, Tommy Casteel, and Orville Casteel as well as sisters, Nannie Casteel Freeman and Vinnie Casteel Holloway.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 71 years, Frances Nelson Casteel; son, Tony (Marlene) Casteel. Daughters, Doris Casteel Williams (Arthur) and Lisa Casteel Moon (Michael); brothers, Houston "Tex" Casteel and Johnny Casteel; sister, Susie Casteel Moree. Sam had five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 11:00 am CT with Pastor Steve Middleton officiating at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.
