Raymond L. Gibson of North Adams passed away on Saturday, July 13 2019. He was born on December 2, 1956 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Ernest and June (Ely) Gibson.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Mary (Iveson); father, Ernest "Duane" Gibson; step-father, Bill Winewisser; four children, Joshua Gibson, Trisha Good, Amy (Brad) Wickham and Heather Baker; nine grandchildren, Gavin Gibson, Ava Gibson, Rachel Harrington, Sadie Harrington, Jaden Wickham, Emily Wickham, Brittany Wickham, D.J.
Hudson and Donovan Baker; three siblings, Larry Gibson, Kathy Gibson and William "Bill" Gibson; and many extended family members that Ray was very close to.
He was preceded in passing by his mother, June Winewisser; grandparents, Nelson and Clarabelle Ely and Lyle and Claudine Gibson.
Raymond served our country in the United States Marine Corps. He loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved to be outdoors. Other hobbies he enjoyed include, camping, farming, golfing, horseshoes and bowling. Church was also important in Ray's life and he would attend services at Hillsdale Baptist Church.
A funeral service to honor his life will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Dan Pann and Pastor Richard Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at the Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
