He was the son of Earl and LaVaun (Hines) Huey. He married twice and survived both wives. His first marriage was to Inez Brown and his second to Charlotte Miller-Shindler. His significant other, Mary Jackson, survives in Celina.
Also surviving are five daughters: Milly Bartley, Holgate, Rose Miller, Wakarusa, IN, Betsy Shindler-Townsend, New Bremen, Patricia 'Martie' Shindler-Clark, Celina, and Crystal (Galen) Barnes, Weston; a son, Ron 'Dooter' (Krista) Hines, Jr., Ansonia; three brothers: Robert, John (Rita) and Lloyd (Peg) Huey, all Mendon; seven sisters: Hazel (Les) Oaks, Spencerville, Norma Bell, Alice Hook, Connie Wilson, Dorothy (Ed) Miracle and Mary Hook, all Mendon, and Judy Vulgamou, St. Marys; and multiple grandchildren, great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a grandson, Brodi Barnes; three brothers: Charles, Gary and Paul Huey; and a sister linked below.
Retired tow motor operator from Huffy Bicycle Mfg. Co., Celina, he then worked as a driver for Wannamacher Trucking Co., Lima, for a number of years. His favorite pastimes included fishing, playing BINGO, camping and tinkering in his garage.
Services will be at the Miller Funeral Home, St. Marys.
